PHILOSOPHY / APPROACH

Understanding Diversity is about treating everyone, regardless of their interests / backgrounds etc…, as a unique individual. Therefore, by helping people identify with their own uniqueness, they will better understand the concept of working with others “different” to themselves and appreciating their uniqueness.

We do this by working at three levels in our training:

  • Personal Level: Looking at individual differences in a variety of ways, so that employees can identify with their own difference. We start with values and personality, because they are the core of people's beliefs and working styles.
  • Interpersonal Level: Demonstrating the impact of our uniqueness on others – i.e. the outcomes of your interactions with others and vice versa. Here we will examine stereotypes, exclusion, contributions, and conflict.
  • Organisational Level: Highlighting the commercial / business benefits and organisational outcomes of having a more engaged workforce. We also discuss relevant legislation, from which facilitates greater understanding of the topic.

All our trainers have extensive experience in delivering Diversity-related training (e.g. awareness, attitudinal and behavioural change, investigation accreditation), and consulting on Diversity issues in large organisations. 

We believe that the design and delivery of Diversity training and the associated behaviour change is much more than learning and raising awareness. It is also a cultural change initiative. Therefore we can also integrate researched and validated change management principles into our training and consultancy where appropriate. This helps to ensure that the programmes are integrated as much as possible into the corporate culture, and fit appropriately with the existing organisational policies and procedures.
