Health & Safety Policy
The Board of Directors and Management at TOTC Limited actively promote good occupational health and safety discipline as an essential and mutual business objective and are committed to continual improvement in occupational health & safety performance and management. TOTC aims to prevent accidents and work related ill health. This is achieved by doing all that is reasonably practicable to secure the health and safety of its employees and to protect other persons including customers, contractors, visitors, associates and the general public when they are affected by TOTC management of training and delivery of training services.
Specifically TOTC will:
- Provide a safe and healthy working environment for each employee
- Comply with all relevant regulations, codes of practice and other requirements to which the company subscribes that impact health and safety at work
- Inform employees and associates of safety regulations applicable to them, and provide training and instruction to enable employees and associates at all levels to perform their work safely and without risks to their health
- Maintain constant and continuing interest in health and safety matters applicable to TOTC activities and brief employees as necessary through internal communication cascades
- Implement safe systems of work incorporating any necessary safety procedures and devices and personal protective equipment and monitor their use. In particular TOTC will introduce policy and procedures in the following areas where Hazards have been identified:

- Driver Safety
- Training delivery in workshop or customer plant
- Manual Handling
- Personal Safety
- Monitor health and safety performance proactively (by performing planned general inspections of the work places) and reactively (by analysis of accidents and work related ill health) via the Balance Scorecard
- Provide the necessary competent advice on occupational health and safety issues
- Run a regular programme of Safety Committee meetings (QESH)
- Monitor employees working hours loads under the company policy around EU Working Time Directive and take action as appropriate to avoid potential stress and ill health occurring
- Review this Policy annually and authenticate it with the Chief Executive Officer’s signature
